Viagra… Viagra … the name is everywhere. People love it and swear by it. This little pill has helped millions to enjoy a blissful sexual relationship with their partners. Viagra has helped previously impotent and frustrated men to boost their libido and thus their self esteem. Indeed Viagra has been a messiah for men who has long lost hope of a happy married life.
Viagra is a very recent discovery and sex is as old as time. The question arises what did men do to fight impotency before Viagra? What were the methods used in those olden times? We zipped our space suites and stepped into our time machines and set out find answers to our questions.
We saw women being burnt at stake and accused of being witches in the middles ages. We learnt that women were held responsible for a man’s impotency as the church believed that they made a pact with the devil and put evil eye upon men, which made the man impotent. Thousands of innocent women were burnt alive to revive men’s impotency.
Ancient Grecians used aphrodisiac or ‘love delights’ like olives, barleys which boosted a man’s potency. We visited India ‘the land of Kama Sutra’ and saw Indians eating a meal of rice, sparrow eggs, stewed onions and honey for boosting their potency. On the other hand Koreans used to eat meal cooked of poisonous snakes for a night full of passion. Drinks like cognac mixed with a yolk was the secret of the French King Henry IV to lure his women and have a satisfying sexual intercourse. Our time machine showed us men having caviar and champagne and baked potatoes and oysters to match their libido with that of Casanovas.
Indeed men have been working hard on their impotency from time immemorial and trying to prove that they are the best lovers of their time. But these methods are old and long forgotten. Today, Viagra is the mantra of the day and is readily available online or in a medical pharmacy. As they say “have a Viagra pill and go in for the kill”.
